Integrative Medicine
Integrative medicine, as defined by the the National Center for Complementary Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), combines mainstream medical therapies and CAM therapies for which there is some high-quality scientific evidence of safety and effectiveness.
Integrative medicine is a lifestyle, which requires attention to your medical and life history as well as your day-to-day activities. Various orthodox and alternative treatment modalities, research, and guidance need to be integrated together in order to treat you in a holistic manner. It’s also important to note that while one treatment may not work for one individual, it may work for you, and vice versa.
There is more than one way to approach your optimum wellness. You can combine conventional, complementary, and alternative medicines for efficient and effective care. Click a Health Topic (left menu) to see how various forms of medicine can help you with your chronic concerns.
